Living la vida lockdown!

So, the announcement came, our doors closed and we sat around (maybe drank all the wine but i won’t tell if you don’t) and thought, what the hell do we do now?!

Well… Out came the sledge hammers, paint brushes and cement mixer! There’s no way we were going to spend all this time doing nothing, and boy I can’t wait for you all to see what we’ve been up to!

From little touches, to full refurbs, we have been busy and I am certainly looking forward to a day off (soon?!) ha ha, but it’s looking amazing!

All our bar tables have been sanded, painted, varnished and given a new lease of life! Our bar didn’t escape, and it’s been clad, sanded, varnished (that was a terrifying job!) and its now looking shiny and new! Not bad for the old girl, there’s some life in her yet!

Our waitress area has been completely gutted, and rebuilt from the floor up, literally! I can now first and second fix electrics, fit kitchens and lay vinyl laminate flooring, even plastered a wall (pats self on back)

The biggest difference is our dog friendly zone, lovingly referred to as the “wood room”. On further inspection, “wood worm room” was probably a better fit, and that strange draft people got sat against an interior wall? Turns out there was an uncapped fireplace behind it!

We literally took everything, floor, walls, ceilings, you name it, we ripped it out and started from scratch, Charlie learnt how to mix concrete (not bad for 2) we had to dig down and put in new foundations, new floor, more vinyl laminate, plasterboard, cladding to keep it feeling cosy and an awesome new bench seat that spans the whole room! Complete with USB charging ports to keep the kids entertained whilst you finish that pint/glass of wine, or come round, grab a coffee and plug in your laptop, working from home doesn’t have to mean being stuck at home anymore!
